We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Laura Harvey-Smith, who runs Rise franchises in Winchester and Southampton, for her amazing achievement in raising £1,875 for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

This autumn, Laura took on the Three Peaks Challenge alongside a group of friends, climbing the highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Wales, all in memory of two very special people close to her heart who lost their lives to MND.

Having dedicated much of her career to roles centred around care, Laura is deeply passionate about making a difference. Her determination to support others extends far beyond her work, and her fundraising journey is a true testament to her compassion and resilience.

Now, Laura is taking her mission even further — training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro later this year to continue raising money for the same important cause. Her drive to honour the memories of her loved ones, Christa and Andrew, continues to inspire everyone around her.

At Rise, we believe in empowering people to live fulfilling, independent lives by encouraging them to continue to learn new skills while engaging in seated sports including hockey, rugby, cricket, volleyball, netball and more. Laura’s dedication to care perfectly embodies these values, showing how the spirit of Rise extends beyond her work and into the wider community.

The MND Association works tirelessly to improve access to care, fund vital research, and support families affected by this devastating disease. Thanks to Laura’s incredible efforts — and the generosity of her supporters — more people will receive the help and hope they need.

From all of us at Rise, we want to congratulate Laura on this achievement and wish her every success as she takes on her next challenge and fundraising drive.
