Our recently-launched franchise, Rise Essex, is working alongside homecare business, Bluebird Care Colchester to deliver a range of activity and wellness sessions across the local community.
The partnership was launched with a seated sports session at Sailship Training and Learning, a local community centre in Clacton-on-Sea.
The sessions combine Rise activities alongside dementia-friendly activities and interactive reminiscence games run by the team from Bluebird Care.
The events will be made up of a Rise seated sports session with Bluebird Care running dementia-friendly activities and speaking about the initiative, Development Manager at Rise, Owen Thom said, “Rise sessions are all about fun and focus on keeping people mobile whilst encouraging social interaction and mental stimulation. As well as taking part in adapted sports, there is also a selection of games and quizzes which always keep energy levels high.
“The dementia-friendly activities are always well received and provide welcome respite for family members.
“We are thrilled to be offering these sessions in the local area and are keen to hear from groups, clubs or care homes who are looking for activities.”
Krissy Rice the Operations Manager at Bluebird Care said “We are delighted to be working with RISE as part of this community initiative to help address social isolation and improve people’s mental and physical wellbeing”
