Sports enthusiast Debbie Heffernan has officially launched a Rise franchise in Epsom, Surrey with her husband Andrew. Rise Epsom offers a range of seated sports and adapted activities for the health and social care sectors to community groups and care providers in Surrey.
Rise activities are tailored to people’s physical ability or cognitive capacity to bring health and wellbeing benefits.
The Heffernans live in Epsom and have three grown-up sons. Debbie felt that now would be a good time to set up a business for herself, but one that was rewarding and played to her passion for sports and wellbeing having most recently worked for a mental health charity.
On becoming a franchisee, Debbie Heffernan said, “We are excited to be on board with Rise and can see how it will enable us to deliver real benefits to people in our local community. Having previously worked in a local mental health charity which promotes participation in activities to improve wellbeing for clients, Rise made sense.
“We really can’t wait to get started and have already made local connections with a number of care homes and community groups who have seen the benefit of activity for their clients and members.”
Rise was launched in September 2021, with its first two franchise territories in South Wales. This has been followed by an offering in Warrington & Halton in Cheshire and now Epsom in Surrey.
