The team at Rise Brighton have partnered with the team from Home Instead Brighton, Hove and Shoreham to deliver ‘Meet Up and Move’ sessions for seniors in the local area.
The programme revolves around Rise’s adapted sports sessions so are accessible to people of all abilities.
They are being run at the local Somerset Centre, a charity that has been operating a Day Centre for over 40 years.
Speaking about working with Home Instead, Pam Gordon, owner of Rise Brighton said, “We are delighted to be able to offer Rise’s seated adapted activities with Home Instead.
“They bring their Clients and we bring the Rise adapted sports programme and all the fun!
“Our aim is to enrich people’s lives and help to prevent social isolation and loneliness.
“Importantly, there is plenty of opportunity for socialising as we break for light refreshments and time for a good natter after we’ve finished the activities.
“We focus on a different sport each month and so far sessions have included tennis, boxing and hockey.”
The sessions have been supported by a small grant from Home Instead Charities, a national charity working to bring joy into the lives of older adults.
