It’s only a few months until May, the month back in 2021 when Sam and Trevor Brocklebank began work in earnest with Roy Oyston on the development of the Rise franchise model.
Rise was developed from a business, Mobi-Game, conceived by Rob. Following a stay in hospital, the keen sportsman wanted to develop a programme that would support people to get (and keep) moving. It was targeted at care homes and was well received.
With oodles of franchise experience, Trevor spotted the opportunity to develop the concept further, under a franchise model and that’s where the planning started. The new-look business, Rise, was formally launched in September 2021.
The first Rise franchisees came on board in 2022 with operations opening in Epsom and Brighton. These joined our pilot offices in Cardiff.
In 2023 we appointed Caz Favager as Head of Quality to ensure consistency of delivery and development of the Rise program.
During the year we welcomed franchisees to 6 new territories, including our first in Scotland.
And let’s not forget our excitement at being named ‘Best Emerging Franchisor’ in the British Franchise Association (BFA) HSBC Awards in November (what a great way to finish the year).
2024 has got off to a great start with two franchisees joining the brand with multiple territories, bringing our territory count to 23 and 12 owners.
It’s been fantastic to see new franchisees coming on board, some with multiple territories – testament to their confidence in the brand we are creating.
Our teams are making a huge difference to the lives of so many people, of all ages. To date our youngest participant is 2 years old and the oldest 109!
